The big to-do concerning transportation within Columbus is the start of the rebuild of the "other half" of the Columbus Innerbelt, aka Columbus Crossroads. From 1994-2003 the western and northern quarters of the innerbelt (SR 315 and I-670) were reconstructed (aka Spring-Sandusky project). Now the eastern (I-71)and southern (I-71/70) quarters will be worked over, starting from the north and heading south, then west.
The first part to get the "redo" is the interchanges for I-71 with I-670, Leonard Ave, Spring/Long Streets, and Broad St (US 40, US 62, and Oh 16).
Unlike the Spring-Sandusky project, the maps for what the completed roads will look like are hard to come by, and what is viewable, appears to be misaligned, or out-right faulty.
Is there to be two structures to carry I-670 traffic (either eastbound only or both directions) between Ft. Hayes and Columbus State? What about access to Ft. Hayes/Leonard Ave from I-71 (in both directions)?
It's a little late for me to start complaining, with physical work on the highway getting ready to start this month. I was residing in Baton Rouge, Louisiana (2004-2009) when the majority of the planning for the reconstruction occured. I hope these concerns were addressed.
